When leasing, you’re agreeing to make monthly payments to the dealer with the knowledge that you’ll return the vehicle at lease-end, which is essentially renting. That means your financial responsibility and monthly payments may be reduced, similar to renting an apartment rather than buying a house. On average, leasing terms last approximately 24-60 months and lessees are alloted around 12,000-15,000 miles on the car each year (with fees if you go over, but you have the option to purchase more miles at signing).
